Myrlina S. Aquino
Baptized as Myrlina, known to the community as Myrle has a diversed Filipino heritage. Born in Bacolod, spent early childhood in La Union, late childhood and early teen in Naga City, late teen in Pangasinan, studied Pre-Nursing in Baguio City and Manila. The diversed background makes it easier to assimilate amongst the Filipinos. Pursued further Nursing education in Melbourne, Australia where she met and married her husband Gani . Marriage was blessed with three boys.
After living in Australia for 18 years accepted a Nursing position offer from Robert Wood Johnson University, New Brunswick, NJ. Initially intended as a working Holiday with the whole family to be with her parents who were US migrants, became a permanent stay. Has remained at RWJUH currently working at the BMTU.
Myrle has strong Catholic upbringing. Parents, grandparents were devout Catholics and was educated in catholic schools and colleges most of her student life. The whole family were introduced to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal thru the Corpus Christi Prayer Group where they joined in 1996. With the encouragement of the then vibrant prayer group with active youth group, the whole family shortly attended the LSS in Bergenfield conducted by Koinonia Foundation. Soon after in the same year Gani and Myrle attended the Marriage Encounter Weekend also offered by Koinonia Foundation and became part of ME-Class#3. Whilst Myrle and Gani were going thru marriage enrichment, their two older boy’s spiritual growth were being developed thru youth seminars/retreats also conducted by the then Koinonia Foundation. Following spiritual enrichments thru marriage spiritual enrichments and youth spiritual growth the whole family together attended the Family Encounter Weekend. The family developed a stronger personal relationship with God.
With God’s prompting, leadership trainings / teachings from the community led by Bro Conrad who with Sister Bing and their children’s inspiration, the whole family has been active in the KFI Evangelization projects /activities in different capacities from supporting to leadership roles may it be in music, marriage, family youth ministries, LSS.
At present Myrle and her husband Gani are members of the KFI COE. They both joined the JEG at its inception in 2002 and remain active members. Both also serve the community in Kissimmee, Florida a community Bro Conrad established with God’s leading. Myrle’s blessings has grown. Her family expanded with two daughter in laws, and six grandchildren. She still works full time with an eye for retirement so she could concentrate on her growing family and commitments to serve God.
